Servers – our business brains

Servers are the business brains of any office. Depending on the requirement for a server, they can run applications, provide shared file space, security for user access, hypervisors or VDI (virtual desktop infrastructure).

A server contains an OS (Operating System), Memory (RAM/DRAM), Central Processing Unit (CPU), Data Storage, Graphical Processing Unit (GPU), Network Connectivity Ethernet, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, Power Supply Unit (PSU) and finally a Motherboard to connect all of the components together.

For businesses with multiple clients and operations, servers should be an integral part of their IT infrastructure. Servers enable delivery of compute resource to support and underpin the requirements demanded by the objectives of the business.

There are many different types of servers, but the main ones are:

  • VM servers
  • Database servers
  • File servers
  • Mail servers
  • Print servers
  • Web servers
  • Game servers
  • Application servers

If it’s your time for an infrastructure refresh, I’m sure you can relate to some of the thoughts from below:

Hmm, should I purchase a tower, rackmount or edge server or something else?

*Googles* ‘best servers’ yikes, where do I start!?

*Googles* ‘Buy a server’

To rackmount, or not to rackmount that is the question.

Or perhaps you know exactly what you’re looking for already, but would like the chance to take some free consultative advice and be offered a competitively priced quote?  We sell all types rack, tower, dense, blade and edge for all applications and use cases.
