The Exos EP2U24 sits alongside the EP2U12 in the PROTECT family, trading fewer large-format bays for 24 SAS drive slots in the same 2U footprint — a better fit where drive count and density matter more than maximum per-drive capacity. The EP2U24 is built for demanding environments that need high read/write throughput and low latency without over-specifying capacity. Fibre Channel connectivity (up to 32Gb/s) makes it a natural fit for SAN environments already standardised on FC, while Seagate ADAPT handles data protection with intelligent, distributed rebuilds rather than the slower single-spare model of conventional RAID.
As with the EP2U12, there's a genuine cross-family expansion path: attach EX2U24 SCALE enclosures to grow to 240 drives total, while the EP2U24's own controllers continue managing RAID protection across the expanded pool. That means you can start right-sized and scale later without switching platform.
Redundant everything — controllers, drives, fans, power, with dual power cords and a hot standby spare — plus Seagate Secure features (SFTP, SED support, administrator access controls) round out a platform built for both performance and governance.
