Extreme Density, Uncompromising Durability, and Edge-Ready Compute — Built for Data-Heavy Workloads
Seagate's Exos systems are organised around three purpose-built platforms — SCALE, PROTECT and FUSE — each engineered for a different way data-heavy organisations grow. Fortuna Data supplies and supports the full range across the UK.
Seagate's Exos portfolio is built around three platforms, each solving a different infrastructure problem. Rather than a single one-size-fits-all system, you choose the platform that matches how your data is actually growing.
High-density JBODs for organisations riding exponential data growth. If your priority is the lowest true cost per terabyte and a modular path to tomorrow's higher-capacity drives, SCALE is your platform.
Explore SCALE →Hardware-enforced RAID with active-active dual controllers, built for financial services, healthcare and any environment where downtime or data loss isn't an option. If compliance and five-nines availability matter most, PROTECT is your platform.
Explore PROTECT →Converged compute and storage in a single space-efficient platform, for hybrid-cloud analytics, content workflows and edge deployments. If you need applications running right where the data lives, FUSE is your platform.
Explore FUSE →| Platform | Optimised For | Typical Use Case | Max Config |
|---|---|---|---|
| SCALE | Density & lowest cost per TB | Software-defined storage, data lakes, mass capacity archive | Up to 100 drives per 4U (DC4U100) |
| PROTECT | Availability & data integrity | Financial services, healthcare, regulated/governed data | Up to 240 drives (EP2U24 expansion) |
| FUSE | Compute-to-data proximity | Edge analytics, content workflows, private cloud building blocks | Up to 84 drives + embedded AMD EPYC compute (AP5U84) |
Systems engineered for peak capacity at scale, for hyperscale and enterprise data centres facing relentless data growth. Designed for predictable performance across AI pipelines and large data lakes, with a modular design that expands seamlessly as demand accelerates — delivering the lowest true cost per terabyte across the full lifecycle.
Explore the full Exos SCALE range →12-bay SAS JBOD expansion enclosure, up to 144 drives when chained — the compact entry point into SCALE.
24-bay SAS JBOD in the same 2U footprint — double the drive density for SSD-heavy deployments.
84-bay high-density JBOD, expandable to 336 drives — the flagship building block for exabyte-scale storage.
Next-generation SAS-4 JBOD bringing multi-petabyte capacity to standard-depth edge racks.
Maximum-density flagship — up to 3.2PB in a single 4U enclosure with Mozaic HAMR drives.
Systems designed to safeguard data and maintain business continuity, whatever challenges arise. Enterprise-grade reliability with end-to-end data protection, rapid recovery and failover, advanced encryption and security controls — built to scale with growing backup and archival needs.
Explore the full Exos PROTECT range →Intelligent RAID array with Seagate ADAPT self-healing data protection — cost-effective, petabyte-scale block storage.
24-bay RAID array with Fibre Channel connectivity — low-latency block and file access with dual-controller availability.
Flagship RAID array delivering up to 1.3PB per enclosure with self-healing data protection at maximum density.
Systems that integrate storage and compute to simplify data workflows and accelerate insights at the edge. Optimised for mixed workloads and multi-tier storage environments, with a single management interface and support for hybrid and multi-cloud connectivity.
Explore the full Exos FUSE range →Space-saving storage server with dual x86 compute nodes — a private cloud building block up to 216TB per chassis.
Integrated storage server combining dual AMD EPYC compute nodes with 24 bays of high-density storage.
The largest FUSE platform — dual compute nodes and up to 1.344PB in a single chassis, splittable into two independent servers.
Alongside the on-premises Exos platforms, Seagate Lyve Cloud provides flexible, scalable object storage — an S3-compatible cloud tier without the egress fees that come with hyperscale cloud providers. It's a practical complement to Exos systems for organisations building a hybrid on-prem-plus-cloud strategy.

Previous-generation Exos systems, still supported and available while stock and support windows remain — useful if you're extending or matching an existing deployment rather than starting fresh.
This isn't ordinary supply chain friction — it's a genuine global shortage. AI hyperscalers have been buying up hard drive production at a scale the industry has never seen, locking in multi-year supply agreements that leave a shrinking pool of capacity for everyone else. Seagate's own leadership has confirmed that a large share of nearline drive production is fully allocated well into the year, and lead times across the industry — not just from Seagate — now commonly stretch to six months or more for enterprise-grade systems.
That means the capacity you'll need for a project landing in six months' time needs to be ordered today, not once the project is already underway. We regularly see organisations come to us needing capacity urgently, only to find the lead time doesn't match their deadline — and in the current market, there's no quick fix once that happens. Planning your storage refresh or expansion around realistic lead times, rather than around when the need becomes urgent, is now one of the most important calls an infrastructure team can make.
Talk to Fortuna Data early in your planning process. As a Seagate systems partner we can help you scope the right platform now, so it's ready when you need it rather than months after.
