ThinkAgile is Lenovo's family of hyper-converged systems. HX runs Nutanix, MX runs Microsoft Azure Local, and VX runs VMware vSAN.
It mainly depends on the software you want to run. Choose HX for Nutanix, MX for Microsoft Azure Local, or VX for VMware vSAN. We can help you compare them.
Licences are bought separately. Nutanix licences can be bought with HX, Azure Local is a Microsoft subscription, and VMware licences for VX are bought from a Broadcom seller.

A SAN is a separate storage array shared by servers. ThinkAgile puts the storage inside the servers and pools it across the cluster. See our SAN storage guide.
